He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hand and Mildred Hand; his grandparents, John and Nettie Hinchliffe; his son James; his sister Donna Jean Manderine (Bernard); his parents-in-law, James and Carmel DiGiacomo; and his brother-in-law Danny Sparks.
He is survived by: his significant other Annette Hand (DiGiacomo); his children, Carmalee Hand-Cannane (Rick) and Gary Hand Jr. (Emily); his grandchildren, Damien Cannane (Casey), Stephanie Hand-Cannane and Michael Hand (Denisse); his great grandchildren, Logan, Lily and Allison; his sisters, Vivian Long and Margie Wright; his sister-in-law Regina Sparks; and his nieces and nephews, Jim Sparks, David Sparks, Bob Neifert, Annette Lukes, Lynnette Blackburn and Laura Owens.
