He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Pitmon and Alice Pitmon; his nephew Johnny Pitmon; and his son-in-law Eddie Byrd. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Pitmon; his daughters, Sheila Porter (Jerry), Vicki Byrd (Greg), Tammy Brookbank (Larry) and Leanne Kolbet (Randy); his grandchildren, Krista, Nick (Sheena), Brian, Casey, Katie, Jackson, Joey, Grant and Kellie; and his great grandchild Easton.

Memorial donations are requested in Bill's name to St Jude Children's Research.
