He was predeceased by: his parents, William Vergil and Dora Gertrude Godby Thompson; his former wife Martha Elizabeth Harris Thompson; his children, Lynnville Lloyd Thompson, Jr. and Cindy Ann Roberts; and his brothers, Frebert, Gerald and Houston Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Gooch Holly Thompson of Mason, Ohio; his daughter Sherry Lynn Preston (Charles) of Ooltewah, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Kelly Suzanne Roberts and Stephen Gerald Roberts, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Mikail, Jordan and Josh; and his brother Harold Thompson.
