He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Joella Brotherton; his children, James Brotherton Jr., Michael Brotherton (Nora) and Thomas Brotherton (Connie); and his grandchildren, Shannon Brotherton, Stephen Brotherton, Sarah Eytcheson, Amy Ferguson, Dillon Brotherton (Heather) and John Brotherton. He was also cherished by 9 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
