He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Stritmatter and Hazel Kiner Stritmatter; and his brother James Stritmatter. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Wood Stritmatter; his sons, Andrew Stritmatter (Tracey) of Lewis Center and Joseph Stritmatter (Kristin) of Huntersville; his grandchildren, Tara Ann Stritmatter (David Norris), Austin Stritmatter (Hayley) and Justin Stritmatter; his great grandchildren, Casey and Amelia; and his siblings-in-law, Frances Jenkins (Jerry) of Lady Lake, Florida and Joseph Wood (Nancy) of Leavenworth, Kansas. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
