He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert N. Lewis and Dessie F. Lewis (Adams); his daughter Elsie Renea Lewis; his siblings, Frank Lewis and Barbara Peak; and his nephews, Tom and Dennis Peak.
He is survived by: his sons, Douglas E. Lewis (Kristen) and James M. Lewis (Guadalupe); his grandson James G. Lewis; his niece Teresa McMillen (Mike); and his nephew Eric Pennycuff (Dixie E. Lewis).
