He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Gottfried and Nora Muhl Nietz; and his siblings, Clara, Albert, Harold, Helen, Floyd, Donald and Edward.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Balluck (Jay) of Independence, Ned Nietz of Marysville and Nick Nietz (Lynda) of Marysville; his grandchildren, Jill Lahrmer (Eric), Emily Munson (Josh), Aaron Nietz and Alec Nietz; and his great grandchildren, Grace, Addison, Morgan Lahrmer, Jacob and Benjamin Munson.
