He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Carl and Evelyn Mae Journell Blumenschein; his girlfriend Lynda Caudill; his sister Pam Blumenschein; and his brother-in-law Larry Phelps.
He is survived by: his sister Jenny Phelps of Milford Center; his nieces and nephews, Cheri Nicol (Chris), Lori Lee, Doug Phelps (Tricia) and Brian Phelps (Summer); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Keagan Carl Nicol, Sydney Mae Nicol, Jenna Watson (Collin), Jaden Phelps, Brice Phelps, Jaxen Phelps, Reid and Cooper Phelps. He is also survived by many other relatives and good friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dick's memory to the Union County Humane Society or ODNR Outdoor Education Passport to Fishing.
