He was predeceased by: his father Harlond Hays,; his brothers, Timothy, Harold, John and Ova; and his nephew Kevin McCoy.
He is survived by: his wife Kelley Yates Hays; his siblings, Harlond Hays, Jr. (Tawni) of Richwood, Darrel Hays of Marysville and Barb McCoy (Mick) of Marysville; and his sister-in-law Susan Hays. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; a great-great nephew; and his pet canine companion.
