He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Johnson and Virginia Spence Johnson; his wife Annie Maynard Johnson; his son Cainie Johnson, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Tina Goble; his great grandchild Trinity Maynard; and his siblings, Ruth Crum, John Johnson and William Johnson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Theresa Woods (Jason) of Urbana and Mary Ann Miller (Harlan) of Cable; his grandchildren, Erica Seagle (Zac), Kendra Spurlock (Daniel), Shawnda Henault, Skyler Woods, Zach Henault, Megan Miller, Bryan Woods, Taylor Henault and Jacob Miller; his great grandchildren, Easton and Ellison; his siblings, Alvin Johnson, Carmie Harless, Edgar Johnson (Sharon), Ronnie Johnson and Linda Blevins (Richard); and his brother-in-law Jeffrey Maynard (Dianne). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
