He was predeceased by: his parents, John Holupka and Caroline Ann Holupka (Sliwiak); and his brother John Michael Holupka. He is survived by: his sister Helen Ahlborn (Fred Ahlborn); his niece Anna Sophia Ahlborn Spellman; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Sophia, Sujitra and Tim; his children, Heidi, Andrew, Caryn and Claire; and also Tim M. Spellman. He is also survived by extended family with many aunts and uncles and about 20 cousins.
