He is survived by: his wife Norma Duran; his children, Tomas Stilwell (Kathy) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gabriela Stilwell (Hung Nguyen) of Miamisburg and Carolyn Stilwell (Robert Anderson) of Chelsea, Michigan; and his siblings, Douglas Stilwell (Marj) of Piqua, Ohio and Marilyn Ketrow (Galen) of Piqua, Ohio. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Wilmington College has established a fund for donations made in memory of beloved professor Dr. Thomas Stillwell.
