He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Custis and Maxine Wilson Custis; his sister-in-law Vicki Appleman (Birmingham); his sister Sharon; his brother-in-law Jose Gallardo; and his nephews, Robert James Collier and Brett Ferguson.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Birmingham Custis; his son Chris Custis (Jennifer Tuke); his grandchildren, Christopher Custis, Jr., Elizabeth Custis and Jonathan Custis; his siblings-in-law, Bennie, Christine Branham (Birmingham) and David Appleman; and his nieces, Danica Sharrock (Tony), Heidi Phipps (Greg), Holly Rodriguez (Luis) and Nicole Hull (Rob).
