He was predeceased by: his father John Daniel; his son Chris Fairchild; his son-in-law Matt McCoy; and his siblings, Richard Fairchild (Norma), Jacqueline Miller (Alvin) and Daniel Fairchild.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Fairchild; and his daughter Christine McCoy of Marion. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion County Historical Society or a charity of the donor's choosing.
