He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest S. Denney and Stella M. Denney (Thacker); his wife Norma J. Calbert; his siblings, E. Bryan, Ronald H. Denney, G. Nadine Baker and Shelba J. Stoneburner; and his nephew Eddie Lee Baker.
He is survived by: his children, Steven R. Denney (Deb) of Eatonton and Julia Ann Denney of Delaware, Ohio.; his grandsons, Dr. Evan Bayles (Kristen) of Dayton, Matthew Denney (Elizabeth) of Cincinnati and Christopher Denney (Kayla) of Columbus, Ohio.; and his great grandchildren, Tobin Paige Bayles and Quincy Kay Bayles.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Boyd Funeral Home (122 W Columbia St, Marion, OH 43302).
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests donations be made in Ernie's honor to the Meeker United Methodist Church in Big Island, Prospect Street United Methodist Church in Marion, or a charity of the donor's choice.
