He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph C. Sappington and Doris L. Sappington (Russell); his brothers-in-law, Paul E. Trihaft and Rev. George R. Copus; and his niece Angela M. Copus.
He is survived by: his sisters, Rachel E. Trihaft of LaRue and Lucille M. Copus of Marion; his nieces and nephews, Gwyn McKinniss (Steve), Susan Wenig (Doug), David Trihaft (Kim) of LaRue and James Copus (Amy) of Fairlawn; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Sara Grote (Chad), Bethany Taylor (Kaleb), Kevin Wenig (Jessica) of LaRue, Tom McKinniss (Kayla) of LaRue, Ben McKinniss (Kortney) of LaRue, William Trihaft of LaRue and Andrew Trihaft (Hannah) of LaRue.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home (210 S High St, La Rue, OH 43332). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Meeker United Methodist Church (6400 Harding Hwy W, Marion, OH 43302).
