Shirley Roddy Obituary

In loving memory of Shirley Roddy of Marietta, Ohio, who departed this world on March 9, 2025 at the age of 87. Shirley leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Benedict A. Roddy and Mary Eileen Hayes Roddy; her grandson Daniel Destro; her siblings, Margaret Schoen, Alice Valadez, Virginia Roddy, Angela Sue Roddy and Michael Andrew Roddy (Daniel Louis Roddy); and her grandparents, O. F., Catherine Roddy, Thomas and Harriett Hayes.

She is survived by: her children, Sherry Destro (Joseph) of Markleysburg, PA, Susan Francis (Kevin) of Marietta, OH., Jennifer Maston (Jeff) of Marietta, OH., Constance "Connie" McGregor of Marietta, OH., Matthew McGregor (Kristina) of Belle Vernon, PA and Andrew McGregor (Teresea) of McLoud, OK.; her siblings, Mary Ann Malone of Barlow, Julia Roddy of Sun Valley, CA, Harriett Jenkins of Cincinnati, OH, Rita Westbrook (Steve) of Ventura, CA., Benedict Roddy of Sioux Center, IA and Vincent Roddy of Marietta, OH.; and her brothers-in-law, Jim Schoen and Frank Valadez. She is also survived by three grandsons, eight granddaughters, seven great-grandchildren. and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Homes (408 Front St, Marietta, OH 45750). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Basilica of St Mary of the Assumption (506 4th St, Marietta, OH 45750).
