He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Bartmess and Bertha Edith Shook Bartmess; his former wife Virginia Groves Bartmess; and his brothers, John W. Bartmess Jr. and Gale Bartmess.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Cooper Bartmess; his son Phillip Neal Bartmess; and his stepdaughters, Diane Offenberger and Mindy Harra (David). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
