He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Thobe and Matilda Thobe (Heitkamp); his siblings, Virgil "Butch" (Mary Thobe), Werner "Barney" (Mary Thobe), Alice (Leonard Varno), Harold "Whitey" (Ginny Thobe), Elton "Buck" (Norma Thobe), Mary Catherine "Toot" (John Mescher), Marilyn (Dale Miller) and David "Dutch" Thobe; and his in-laws, Linda Thobe, David Moeller, Herb, Nettie Schlater, Alma Schlater, Norma Schlater, Delores, Bob Peltier, Vernon, Lou Schlater, Norb, Vera Schlater, Urban Schlater, Joe Crusey and Cy Thobe.
He is survived by: his mother-in-law Velma Schlater; his children, Joe (Karen Thobe Cassella), Jon (Patti Thobe), Maria Stein, Jill (Scott) and Jana (Steve Muhlenkamp); his grandchildren, Corey (Shelly Thobe), Kasey (Cory Barlage), Kristen (Eric Grilliot), Molly (Brad Spettel), Mason (Kora Thobe), Sara LeFleur (Trent Hall), Sean LaFleur, Rashell (Dan Sutter) and Ryan (Faith Muhlenkamp); his siblings, Martha Warner, Don, Patty Thobe, Maria Stein, Roland "Brownie", Shirley Thobe, Margie Moeller, Cassella, Lois, Jay Hogenkamp Carthagena and Larry Thobe; and his in-laws, Jean Thobe, Maria Stein, Elmer, Carol Schlater, Sidney, Marlene Crusey and Martha Schlater-Thobe. He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren.
