He was predeceased by: his mother Mary C. Leather (Backensto); his former wife Judith A. Leather; his father Robert S. Leather; his siblings, Thomas L. Leather and Carol S. Roberts; his grandson Mitchel Leyda; and his great grandchild Mayzie Johns.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Horvath; his children, Amy Leyda, Annette Musick (Rob) and Robert "Matt" Leather; his grandchildren, Jessica Leyda, Elizabeth Merringer (Matt), Rachel Knell (Ryan), Hannah Johns (Nate), Sarah Martin (Caleb), Meghan Hiltbrunner (David) and Cooper Leather; and his great grandchildren, Grayson, Aubree, Carter, Henry, Darcy, Ronnie, Grace, Lainey, Ensley, Charlotte, Alice and David Jr.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
