He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Adkins and Georgia Dowell (Belcher); and his son Keneth J. Adkins. He is survived by: his wife Lora Adkins (Conway); his children, Mary Adkins and Anthony Conway; his grandchildren, Evy, Liam and Esley; and his siblings, Tammy Schnuerer (Jeff), Tim Adkins (Tracy Smith) and Jason Adkins. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
