He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Porter and Elizabeth Porter (Middleton). He is survived by: his wife Arlene Porter (Oakley); his children, Rex Porter (Jeanetta), Jill Porter, Joey Porter (Sonya Ivon) and Lisa Stevens (John); his siblings, Raymond "Jewel" Porter and Eleanor Wilcox; his sisters-in-law, Sarah Jane Carver, Bev Oakley and Shirley Oakley; his grandchildren, Brian, David, Gregory, Daniel, Courtney, Jocelyn and Colton; and his great grandchildren, Samantha, Sydney, Seth, Sophia, Norah, Leah, Maxwell, Andrew, Braxton, Luke and Parker.

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, Ltd. (1106 Park Ave E, Mansfield, OH 44905). A memorial service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
