He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald A. Hershner and Inez L. Hershner (Reed); his siblings, Ima Jean Kinton, Shirley Hershner, Larry Hershner and Judy Prater; and his great grandchild Tess Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Hershner of Mansfield; his children, Marty Hershner of Sarasota, Randy Hershner of Mansfield and Julie White (Matt) of Findlay; his grandchildren, Marcus Hershner, Nathan Hershner (Sarah), Jayma Johnson (Tim), Ashley Ziegelhofer (Ben), Ryan Hershner (Erica), Jordan Hershner (Gabbie), Isaac White (Nikki Schuster), Maddie White (Brady Hauenstein) and Eli White; his great grandchildren, Ava, Atlas, Olivia, Emerie, Myah, Natalie, Evie and Lucas; and his brother Lowell Hershner (Anne). He is also survived by sister.
