He was predeceased by: his mother Betty O'Neil; his wife Judie Lewis; his son Scott Adam Lewis; his father Cleveland Lewis; his stepfather Albert O'Neil; his sister Barbara Zarth; and his mother-in-law Betty Hoffman.

He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth "Libby" Robinson (Brennan) and Michael Lewis (Michelle); his grandchildren, Carter, Beau Robinson, Dylan, Ian, Aaron, Jarret Lewis and Emie Clifton; and his brother Michael O'Neil (Jan). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendly House in honor of Barry's lifelong dedication to his community.
