She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard J. Roach and Virginia A. Biedenbach Roach; her husband James R. Ashton; her daughter Jimi Sue Ashton; and her sister Barbara Hall.
She is survived by: her children, James B. Smith of Malta, David L. Gavin (Pam) of Malta, Harold Gavin Jr. of McConnelsville, Lori L. Goodnite of McConnelsville and Joseph R. Ashton (Sharilee) of Newark; and her sisters, Margaret Brooks (Charles), Eileen Pettit, Janet Rowland (Roger), Jeanette Kittle, Diana Hollobaugh and Judy Drake (Dave). She is also survived by several grandchildren; and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
