He was predeceased by: his parents, Galen Howard and Lola Howard; and his siblings, Edgar Paul Howard, Bruce Wade Howard, Roy Howard, Rena Delores Holbrook, Virginia Bernice Dyer and Jessie Marie Howard.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Howard; his daughters, Tammy Richardson (Jeff) of Maineville and Tonya Gehringer (Dave) of Clarksville; his grandsons, John Gehringer, Luke Gehringer, Evan Richardson, Joshua Richardson and Brendan Richardson; and his brother James Wendell Howard (Sandra) of Lebanon. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
