He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Chaney and Betty Chaney; his brother Joe Chaney; his friend Leo Broering; and his son Vern Dewitt.
He is survived by: his wife Heather Chaney; his children, James Chaney (Jessica) and Lindsay Lovell (Mike); his grandchildren, Connor and Harper Lovell; his sibling Lynn Chaney; his friends, Brad Beck, Ron Lurie and Jeff Benseler; his son-in-law Mike; and his friend Kerry Thrush. He is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.
