He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Chaney and Mary Chaney (Outland); his wife Nancy J. Chaney (Eichhorn); and his son Tony Chaney. He is survived by: his children, Colleen Gividen (Joe), Sherri Jeffrey (Joe) and Scott Chaney; and his grandchildren, Kristin Holmes, Ashley Grant and Brandon Byrd. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
