He was predeceased by: his parents, Lina Alanen (Bell) and Tauno Alanen. He is survived by: his wife Gayle Alanen; his daughters, Virginia Dodge (Patrick) and Pamela Luttermoser (Robert); and his brother Jack D. Alanen (Marie).
