He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Etzel and Rebecca C. Piper Etzel; and his siblings, Earl Etzel, Gertrude Etzel Meanor, Dorothy Etzel Bemis and Fay Etzel.
He is survived by: his wife Bernadette J. Lander; and his children, Linda Fye of Palm Harbor, FL, Ron Etzel of Beltsville, MD, Tom Etzel (Alicia) of Mentor, OH and Annette Bailey (Kevin) of Ankeny, IA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
