He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Shumate and Ethel Shumate (Long); his wife Lillian Shumate (Jacobs); and his daughter Linda Shumate Wallace. He is survived by: his daughter Carolyn Semenick (Douglas); and his grandchildren, Adam (Mandy), Lauren (Andy), Jacob (Kandice), Erin, David (Danielle) and Max (Sara). He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.
