She was predeceased by: her parents, Julia Szekely (Moritz) and Martin Szekely; her husband Floyd I Brainard, Jr.; and her siblings, Jenny Jones, Pearl Smith, William, Ronald, Charlie and Johnny.
She is survived by: her children, Jacklynn Brainard, Theresa Bonnema (Gary) and Edward Brainard (Teresa); her grandchildren, Shannon Thompson, Samantha Charlton, Alison Blauser, Adam Bonnema, Erin Bonnema-Steele and Sheena Brainard; and her siblings, Marilyn Haffa, Martin "Sonny", Frank, James, Robert and David Szekely. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
