He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucy (Cammerata) and Peter Ruta, Sr.; his wife Lillian Bliss; his children, Linda Cammerata, Patricia Wilson and Anthony Ruta, Jr.; and his pets, Rocky, Toby and Marci.

He is survived by: his children, Lucy Salyers and Robert Wilson (Teresa); and his granddaughter Samantha. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
