He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Swaney and Wilma Boothby Swaney; and his siblings, Dorothy Lumley, Ruth Cook, Thelma Nunn, Dean Swaney and Mansel Swaney.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Jean Hupp Swaney; his children, Sean D. Hupp (Tracy) of Caldwell, Mark D. "Bink" Swain (Christina) of Macksburg and Stephanie D. Murphy of Whipple; his grandchildren, James R. Hupp, Hayleigh N. Milligan, Tianna M. Swain, Johnathon D. Swain, Troy D. Hupp, Levi M. Swain and Alexis D. Swain; and his great grandchildren, Haiden, Harmony, Elijah, Colt, Elena and Cooper. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Guests are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing at all gatherings as required by the state of Ohio.
