He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Smith and Genevieve Graham; his wife Kathy L. Emerick Smith; and his brother Harold "Otzel" Smith. He is survived by: his children, Jerry D. Smith (Jessica) of McConnelsville, Michael J. Smith of Caldwell, Samantha C. Smith of Macksburg and Shawna R. Smith of Caldwell; his siblings, Herman "Buggy" Smith of New Martinsville, Alice Valentina Maglione (Chad) of Wellsburg and Larry Joy of Lowell; and his grandchildren, Alexis and Avery Smith. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
