He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Linda; his children, Caren and Richard; his sister Melanie Jaegers Kachold (John); and his grandchildren, Meagan, Zachary, Alexandra and Alaina.

In lieu of flowers since Dick loved his Misha dogs (all his dogs were named Misha) donations to Northeast Ohio SPCA shelter and clinic or for his love of the parks Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
