She was predeceased by: her parents, Laura Simon (Schwamberger) and Wilfred Simon; her son John Schmitz; her siblings, Gloria Bernath (Roger), Wilfred Simon (Ruthie), Elwood Simon and Jim Simon; her sister-in-law Phyllis Simon; and her nephew David Bernath.
She is survived by: her husband William R. Schmitz; her children, Gary Schmitz (Shellie), Steve Schmitz (Lynette), Cheryl Rowland (Denny), Billy Schmitz (Amy), Julie Creque (David), Patty Boger (Doug) and SueAnn Peete (Kent); her brother Herb Simon (Shirley); her sisters-in-law, Sue Simon and Camilla Cleghorn; and her niece Laurie Rufenacht. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren—with two more great-grandchildren and two more great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church~assumption (2649 US-20, Swanton, OH 43558).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Fulton County Fair Arts & Crafts building renovations project in memory of Ramona Schmitz.
