He was predeceased by: his parents, Hans H. Fischer and Gertrude Fischer (Warkentin); and his nephew Gregory Czerniak. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Sue Frick; his sons, Michael Fischer (Kathleen Eisel), Joe Fischer (Mary Jo Kreuz) and Steve Fischer; his grandsons, Josh Fischer (Jade Lautenschlager), Matthew Fischer, Michael Fischer (Taylor Kashmer), Collin Fischer, Jacob Hassen and Drew Hassen; his great grandchildren, Koen, Kade and Krew Fischer; his sister Gesine "Gus" Czerniak; his sister-in-law Deborah Krause (Norman); and his nieces and nephews, Laura Knapik (Tim), Amy Czerniak, Dale Krause (Marla Homan) and Norman Krause.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Promedica Ebeid Hospice.
