She was predeceased by: her parents, Brasley McVey and Bessie McVey (Forrester); her grandson Dakota Perkins; and her siblings, Brenda McVey, Roy McVey and Ernest McVey.
She is survived by: her spouse Donald Perkins; her children, Donald Perkins (Amy) of Fayetteville, Timmy Perkins (Brooke) of Lynchburg, Teresa Emmons (James) of Dayton and Betty Shelton (Wesley) of Lynchburg; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Morgan, Bella, Alice, Noah, James, Jeffrey, Christopher, Harley, Mason, Brenda, Perry and Jeremiah; and her siblings, Hazel Sargent (Moose), Rosie Elam, Gary McVey (Beth), Buddy McVey, Troy McVey and George McVey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
