He was predeceased by: his parents, John Purdin and Anna Purdin (Reid); his wife Joann Purdin (Burkett); his former wife Dorothy Purdin (Jacobs); and his siblings, Lowell, David, Lloyd Purdin and Dorothy Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Rick Purdin (Michelle) of Lynchburg, Doug Seipelt (Susan) of Sun City, Florida and Terry Seipelt (Susan) of Sun City, Florida; his stepchildren, Patty Webb (Paul) of Mt. Orab, Cathy Massey (Mark) of Pricetown, Bob Hertlein (Cindy) of Sardinia and George Hertlein of Buford, Ohio; and his siblings, Paul Purdin (Zola) of Georgetown, Gene Purdin (Meredith) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ruth Woods (Kenneth) of Georgetown and Florence Crowe of Charlotte. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
