He was predeceased by: his father Karl Goettl; and his wife Lucille Goettl. He is survived by: his children, Karl Goettl (Jennifer) of Mansfield and Louanne Hockstad (Howard) of Cedarburg, WI; his grandchildren, Renee Getz (Austin), Karl Goettl (Ilea), Jack Goettl, Lisa Hockstad, Andrea Appel (David) and Erik Hockstad; his great grandchildren, Esther, Blake, Clint and Edwin; and his sister Evelyn Goettl.
