Glen Dawson, Sr. Obituary
On July, 17, 2024, Glen Dawson, 83, went to be with our Lord and Savior. He was born in 1941 in Clay, WV to Lee and Strossie (Sigman) Dawson. Glen is survived by his 2 sons Glen Dawson, Jr and Derek (Leslie) Dawson, 2 brothers, Delbert Dawson and Phillip Dawson, and 3 sisters, Louetta Hollister, Loretta Biglin, and Roberta Thompson. He is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis to whom he was married to for 58 years. Glen was also preceded in death by his parents, brother, David Dawson and sister, Ann LeVann. Glen and Phyllis are survived by their great nephew, Dylan Wireman who they adopted as their own grandson and loved dearly.
Glen was a member of the Moose club and also a proud member of the Lucas Lions club. There were many layers to Glen from the time he spent in Detroit booking bands like Bob Seger, Mitch Ryder, and Alice Cooper (to name a few), to his 40 plus years of owning and operating his own sanitation business. He was well known just for that alone. He had many friends over the years and everywhere he'd go people knew and loved him. Glen loved all Cleveland sports teams (especially the Browns) and passed that passion on to his boys. Glen continued to be a promoter even after he returned to Lucas promoting both his sons in music and comedy.
There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, July 24th at 2:00 PM. The Service will be officiated by pastor Larry Hill at First Baptist Church of Shelby located at 185 S. Gamble Street, Shelby, OH 44875.
