She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmo Mattern and Edith Mattern (Freeburn); and her sisters, Nancy Happel and Connie North. She is survived by: her children, Alison Dunlap (Dennis), James A. Mills (Kathy), John Mills MD (Lenee) and Meredith Mills (Les); her grandchildren, Alex (Meg), Jillian Dunlap, Jacob, Andrew (Jordan), Madlynn Mills, Reagan, McKenna, Kayden, Jack Mills and Ian Weimer; her great grandchildren, Shay, Micah, James and Winslow; her caregivers, Nancy Payne, Jeanann Hartman, Mahala Hanes and Jozi Covey; and her friend Victoria Garten. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Village of Lower Salem, Hearts and Hands 4 Paws and the Mills Animal Fund for Animal Welfare through the Marietta Community Foundation.
