He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Slaven and Rose Slaven; his wife Lynda; his daughters, Melissa (Marc), Sue (Bob) and Leah (Ian); his grandchildren, Kristina, Bobby, Emily, Jake, Matt, Bella, Kathryn, Davis and Colin; his stepgrandsons, Tyler and Austin; his brothers, Gary (Bonnie) and Billy; and his parents-in-law, Dan (Lorraine), Tom (Jennie), Lou (Cheryl), Lori (Nick) and Nicky (Cheryl). He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
