He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Staudigel and Margaret Staudigel (Kennedy); and his in-laws, Donna Gates, Lisa McConnell (Kevin) and Brian Gates (Mindy).
He is survived by: his husband Michael Gates; his siblings, Elaine Wallace (Wayne), Mary Ann Cook (Brad), Rick Staudigel (Kelly Dehan) and Jim Staudigel (Heidi); his in-law Mike Gates; his close friends, Tom Koeninger, Jim Hesser, Mike Yarrington, John Ortman and Tanner Redwine; and his pet Rodi. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews, 9 great nieces and nephews.
