He was predeceased by: his wife Elsie Marie Paytes; his girlfriend Edith Price; his grandson Josh; and his siblings, Jack Paytes, Bill Paytes, Teddy Paytes, Jo Bryant, Don "Si" Paytes and Betty Braun.
He is survived by: his children, Danny Paytes (Sandy), Randy Paytes, Sandy Shank (Jack), Carmen Vinsant (late Ed), Deborah Harris (Kenny), Gregory Paytes (Kathy), Matthew Paytes and Delphia Paytes; his grandchildren, Dana, Dan, Randy, Jenny, Kathy, Carrie, Sara, Ransom, Danielle, Kayla, Seth, Bud, Cody, Megan, Katelyn, Jacob, Michael, Derick and Junior; and his sister Sue Delaney. He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
