He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hinton and Dorothy Hinton (Morrow); his wife Carol Hinton (Hardie); his daughter Jeni Mumpire; and his siblings, Velma James, Darlene Thellman and Dean Hinton.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Ward (Rich) of Wilmington, NC, Cecelia House (Mike) of Carrollton, Darlene Hinton of Scottsville, VA and J. C. Hinton (Becky) of Louisville. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
