He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Burchfield and Lucile Collins Burchfield; his significant other Carolyn Woodson Burchfield; his son David James Burçhfield; his siblings, Donna Arner (Allen), Jack Burchfield (Eva) and Sue Sommers (Lee); his daughters, Rebecca Rodak (Ron) and Sherrie Burkhart (Don); his grandchildren, Ben Rodak (Maria), Matthew Rodak (Caitlin), Christin Walker (Doug), Cory James Mash, Matt Johnston (Alexis) and Joe Johnston; and his great grandchildren, Maxson, Stuart Rodak, Camilla, Wyatt Walker, Everly Johnston Jim and Carolyn.
