He was predeceased by: his parents, Larry Messner and Mary Messner (McGuire); his sisters, Donna Workman and Wanda Koppert; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Workman, Duane Koppert and Chuck Ziegler.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Messner (Gosnell); and his children, John Messner (Alisa), Jim Messner (Jessica), Daniel Messner (Ashley) and Katie. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
