He was predeceased by: his parents, Angelino Velázquez and Gertrudis Madera; his siblings, Florentino (Sinti), Ramon, Euripides (Piry), Angel, Porfirio (Coqui), Andy, José Velázquez (Cheo) and Anna Ramos; and his grandson Raúl Robert Montagu.
He is survived by: his sons, Raúl Velázquez Jr. of Columbus and Reynaldo Velázquez of Lorain; and his sisters, Maria Elis Velázquez of Lorain and Gladys Velázquez of California. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
